VR Group to sell its international road logistics business to Avind International

”Although the international road logistics market has been difficult to predict, the company's business is in good condition and has developed positively. The market has undergone many changes over the years, and as part of this development we have gradually abandoned our foreign road operations, as the operations are no longer at the core of VR Transpoint's strategy. We have cooperated with Avind and the business will continue to develop under the ownership of a company that knows Russian traffic well," says Martti Koskinen, Senior Vice President at VR Transpoint.

"Transpoint International is a company we are already familiar with, and with this transaction we will become one of the largest logistics operators in Russia. In the future, we will also grow in other markets," says Kari Talvitie, Managing Director of Avind International.

Transpoint International (FI) Oy's personnel will continue as employees of the company. The company has approximately 90 employees in Helsinki, Kotka and Vyborg, of whom about 10 work in Finland.

The parties to the transactions have agreed to not disclose the purchase price. The transaction will not affect VR Transpoint's domestic road or rail logistics operations.
